Good idea, Peter, I'd love to see her photos.

If I can figure out how to "do" whatever it is I need to do (that means I'll ask someone at work) to get photos online, you're certainly welcome to put them on your web site. Which, by the way, I did consult prior to my trip.

I don't have a digital camera. Went to Africa last summer and a friend said "You don't even have digital camera and you're going to Africa???"

I said, "Well, if I spent my money on things like a digital camera I couldn't afford to go to Africa."

I've been waking up at 3 and 4am, still a little jetlagged. and then I eat a calisson.

Leely, congratulations on making your first solo trip a success! I was about your age when I did my first solo trip (after a divorce) - and remember what a revelation that was. What fun, ALONE! That trip was to a ski resort in Canada, so it wasn't quite the same as yours. Then I stopped doing the solo thing for many years. Now, I'm back to it, going mostly to France (and England). Last year I drove around Provence for 2 weeks, alone, and just loved it. I also did the same thing in Burgundy and Alsace. You're lucky that you still have lots of time for those trips - I'm doing this as often as I can, to make up for all those "in-between" years! I'm sure you'll have many more great trips - and be sure to give us reports - reading this one was alot of fun.

Wonderful report, Leely, I enjoyed it greatly.
I'm also a 34 year old woman who lives in a city.
I've taken quite a few trips on my own now, it has become my favourite way of travelling - I just LOVE this freedom to do exactly what I want and when I want to do it.
In late April I'll be spending 1 week in the Loire Valley and 3 days in Paris. I can't wait!
