Looking for travel guide recommendations

Hi - I'm looking for a travel agency or private guide that can provide transportation from Athens to Delphi to Meteora and back to Athens for a group of 8-9 people. I don't need the accommodation booking, just someone to provide the vehicle and drive. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or message me with your travel guide contacts. Thank you!

>>> I don't need the accommodation booking.
Are you thinking of doing this as a day trip from Athens? This trip would be close to 800 km. You are looking at around 10 hours driving not counting stops.

Sorry, I left out the details. We were thinking of a 3-4 day trip (2 nights in Delphi, 1 night in Meteora, head back to Athens the 4th day). We already have our accommodations, which is why I stated that we do not need the travel agent or guide to book it.

We've visited Greece a few times, it's one of our favourite countries. We tend not to use travel agents or guides but we used Matt Barrett's website a long time ago, for our first ever visit -

https://www.greektravel.com/

You can probably find what you are after here. Sorry but I can't offer any personal recommendations.

Good luck in your search! but I would not expect a bargain, even if you just want vehicle & driver. That's because you essentially must pay a person's estimated earnings for each day, even tho much of the time y our group will be out of the vehicle sightseeing -- also his meals & accommodation. BTW, you cannot expect onsite "guide" services ... because in Greece only a LICENSED guide can legally escort people into a museum or ancient site and explain the contents. Licensing requires years of study and passing a very rigorous test; usually mastery of several languages is also expected. As a result, licensed guides usually charge around €60 per hour for small groups of 4-5, with a 3 hour minimum. A 'driver guide" is just an overpaid driver... they can only hand you brochures and leave you at the gate of sites/museums. If you want actual on-site guidance, you should seek someone, in Delphi forinstance, who can meet you at the gate of the Ancient site; several well-known guides do live & work in Delphi. If this is not for you, then you must commit to pre-trip preparation, reading, & carrying along materials for a D-I-Y approach. It's either $ or time investment, I have found.

Thank you Kay for the referral. I’ve reached out to Matt. Hopefully he’ll have some leads on a driver. We tend to not use tours or guides either but found a driver to be super convenient on our last trip to Iceland when we didn’t want to navigate and drive in icy conditions. Thank you again.

I never use the Matt Barrett website, but understand he used to recommend one of his mates, “George the taxi driver”. George is actually a company, and since they aren’t licensed guides can’t take you around the sites.

Just to clarify, I am looking for someone with a vehicle that can fit 8-9 people and can drive our group from Athens to the different sites. We do not need an actual “guide” to tell us about the sites. We need a vehicle and driver. I do have a quote from one travel company, have emailed George’s son (Billy) and am waiting for a response. If anyone else has a driver recommendation, please let us know. Thank you.

As an FYI, I have heard back from 3 companies offering a vehicle and driver for our group. The quotes range from $400-500 / per day for the vehicle (Mercedes minibus, including insurance & tolls), driver + accommodation & meals for the driver. If anyone else is looking for this service and want the contact info, please DM me.

Theoretically speaking, you would get the best price from a coach company directly, not from a travel agent..
The drivers accommodation and meals will of course be paid by you and they should be included in the price.
Some recommended coach companies are :
https://www.avtours.gr always on time - great service - great vehicles
?????? - Tsokas Bus Services - ????????? ?????????? - ???????
