Looking for input on some hotels in northern Scotland, please

I am feverishly trying to finish planning our upcoming July trip to Scotland! I am considering (and booking) some hotels along the way. Has anyone stayed at these hotels? I am looking for any feedback.

Banchory Lodge in Banchory
Castleton House near Glamis
MacDonald's Ardoe House
Mary Culter House
Minmore House in Glenlivet

I am sure I will be having more questions as I go along.

Thanks!

Ginny

I haven't stayed at any of them, but know Banchory Lodge, Ardoe House and Maryculter House quite well. They're all nice. What do you look for in a hotel?

The Ardoe House is amazing. I've been there for dinner, and only dream of ever being able to actually stay there.

I had made a reservation at the Ardoe House and then found the Mary Culter House and Banchory Lodge after that. They are all in the same vicinity so I was looking to see if anyone had stayed at any of them!

Amelie, the Ardoe House is pretty pricey but I guess we will splurge that night!!

I went ahead and booked a room at the Minmore House also. It looks so comfy and warm. I wish I could work it out so that we could do 2 nights there but it is about an hour and a half over to the Loch Ness area that we want to tour so I don't think it makes sense to stay there the second night. (We will be going to Skye the day after Loch Ness.)

By the way, any recommendations for a nice place along Loch Ness or closer to Inverness?

Does anyone have information on Glengarry Castle?

For Inverness, the Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel is suppose to be very nice. For something less pricey try the Pottery House B&B.

While I have no personal experience with Glengarry Castle it does get rave reviews.
