Check out the website for NRCSA (nrcsa.com). It's a clearing house for language schools world-wide. Have only used them for Mexico, but I was very happy with the results. They were also able to give me personal recommendations based on the elements I was interested in and those I wasn't (for example, I wanted strong language classes more than sightseeing opportunities).

Sandy, Thank you. I had not heard of this group I will check it out. I did check Don Quijote this am. They do not take students under 18 years of age. It is for my son. He will be a few months short of 18 at the time he hopes to attend. I will travel with him, but not take a class. Any more info?

I haven't taken language there, only in France, but here are some online resources for language schools in a lot of countries, in addition to the above mention: www.worldwide.edu, www.europa-pages.co.uk. Also, Petersons Guide online has a section on them, and www.counciltravel.com

Linda--try the message board at www.madridman.com, which has a section for study in Spain. You should be able to get leads and feedback from others there, and the board is very pro-Spain, so you'll find many positive people there, too. Funny about the age thing--MadridMan has an affiliation with Elemadrid, but they take students only from age 20 on up.
