Looking for hotel suggestions for Budapest and Vienna, preferably under €100

Does anyone have any decent accommodation suggestions for Budapest and/or Vienna for under €100. Actually, I'd really like to keep it under $100 so that's around €65 right now. That's for a single. Don't need anything fancy but central location would be important. Thanks

i have enjoyed hotel harmonie in vienna many times. very convenient to the D trama and a short walk to the ring. it is next to the french school. lots of restaurants nearby and a food shop.

see www.gtahotels.com to price compare. it is a best western.

i was told of a very nice bed and breakfast in budapest on castle hill called the bellevue. i met some swedes staying there and they have returned several times.

then there´s always priceline.

€100 is easy, but not $100 for Vienna.

We stayed at Pension Suzanne in Vienna. Basic accom but excellent location. €78 for single room.

Others here recommend Pension Pertschy which is also great location. €69-90 for single room.

It may be the ultimate cop-out, but Priceline is a pretty good bet. We got 4 rooms at the Art'Otel Budapest last Christmas for $70 per room per night. And it was a fabulous hotel just below the castle district. To get an idea on what the bids are currently going for check out:

We arranged our Prague hotel through www.bidding.com. We stayed at the Tivoli - good deal, clean hotel, decent breakfast, ok location, horrendous parking situation.

Check out Tripadvisor and my other thread on Budapest as my daughter and I were just there a few weeks ago. We stayed at the Starlight Suiten Suites and got it a few days before we left on Expedia for about $111USD. It was fabulous!
It is located right by the Chain Bridge behind the Four Seasons Hotel. The location is terrific for both walking and taking the metro. There are some wonderful restaurants right around the hotel too!
The hotel is very nice as it is a suite complete with huge separate bedroom and then a huge livingroom area complete with bar, minbar, microwave,TV and desk. The bathroom was split with toilet and bath in one room and sink in another. There is a continental breakfast included and the staff was unbelievable. They loaned extra umbrellas when ours broke(we were there during the storm EMMA)and were very helpful with directions, maps and brochures.I think that you will love it. Be sure to go to the House of Terror and the House of Hungarian Wine Tour while you are in Budapest.

I've stayed at the Pension Hargita in Vienna twice and would certainly stay again. Rooms are small but very clean and neat.

It isn't centrally located but it is in a neighborhood with many shops and restaurants. And it is only about 3 minutes from the Otto-Bauer-Gasse /Andreasgasse UBahn exit.

The price is exactly what you are looking for though they fill well ahead, in part because they are well-recommended in the Rick Steves travel books.

I second the suggestion of using Priceline in Budapest. My daughter and I also got a room at the art'Otel last summer...for $65. It was a great accommodation.

For Vienna. 60euro for a single room. Excellent location within the ring (for a location map, click "site plan on their HP). With shower/TV, breakfast included.

Keep in mind that with Priceline for Budapest, the zone is quite large. Recently, posters have reported getting a not-so-central hotel with worse reviews than the Marriott or Art'Otel, which used to be the most common winners. I am not sure of the current situation for Vienna, but with Prague, a similar situation where you can get a not-so-central hotel on Priceline also occurs.
