looking for apartment suggestion for paris

Hello - I've been asked by a friend to investigate apartments for her and her mid-20's daughter to rent while in paris in late April. They'll need a one bedroom, are comfortable with metro travel so it doesn't have to be in the 1st - but not too far away like Verssailles. Price range of 800-1000e for the week if possible. The mom doesn't have strong computer search skills and its a surprise for her daughter so we can't ask her. I know many Fodorites have found wonderful apartments recently and will appreciate any recommendations you have. Thanks in advance

We really liked the apt we rented last month on rue St Andre des Arts. It is a 1 bedroom loft with 1 andd a half baths. The bed in the loft is a queen but if they don't want to share the sofa opens into a bed. The location has excellent transportation options with St Michel metro just a few steps away adn numerous bus lines nearby. There is a boulangerie a few doors away and lots of cafes and shopping. We rented from Vacation in Paris. I liked the fact that you pay in US dollars and can use Paypal and get FF miles on your cc card. I especially liked the fact that you are sent the keys and an information pack before you leave home so no waiting around for someone to let you in. It was apt #122

We are also using Vacation In Paris for our stay in June. We are renting #125, which is in the 1st and is a one bedroom. It also has a twin loft as well as a sleeper sofa. This is just myself and DD, who will be 18. This apt is in your friends budget as well. I chose this apt based on other posters recommendations of it both here and at several other travel boards.

And we have booked Vacation in Paris #100 for a late March trip. They are very easy to work with.

I stayed in the same flat as avalon--it was excellent. I think the number is 122 on the vacationinparis web site.
