Looking for a small, romantic hotel in Paris
Want to plan a 2 year wedding anniversary trip to Paris w/ my husband. Looking for a small, romantic hotel in a great location. No budget constraints. Thanks in advance.

How important is size - of the room?
This may help to guide responses, especially since their are no budget constraints, as There are a number of exceptionally charming small Paris hotels in great locations with most or all of their rooms also rather small by, say, American standards.

The Aubusson is a lovely hotel, great service and lobby is over the top in elegance. The rue Dauphine is a delight. The rooms are very pleasant, but to me with just a hint of the austere in the decor.
The Palais de la Reine is in a wonderful location, and we thoroughly enjoyed a couple of stays there.
We recently stayed under the eaves at the Lutece on the Isle St. Louis. Another great hotel. Recently redecorated from top to bottom. To me this was the most romantic of the three, as well as the least expensive, by far. But the rooms - our room at least - was small.
I prefer all three of the above locations to the Boulevard St. Germain, but of course, plenty of folks would disagree, strongly. It's a matter of taste.
The suggestions you're receiving so far are great - and also shaped by "no budget constraints." You're likely to receive a lot more if you spell out what else is important to you in a hotel.
One thing you might do is search out a copy of the Rivages guide "Hotels de Charme a Paris." I believe there's an English-language version, and a Web site. I wouldn't make a decision based solely on the guide but it's a great resource.

Just stayed at d'Aubusson....it was perfect in every way. Great room, wonderful jazz in the evening, beautiful sitting area and dining room-not to mention a great location! Would highly recommend this hotel- it was a magical trip anyway, but the hotel and it's ambiance and location certainly added to the magic!

One of the many good things about the Madison: rooms, especially the corner ones, are larger than the Paris norm. The hotel was entirely renovated 2 years ago and has lovely traditional furniture; bathrooms are quite large, and the tubs have hand-held showers with a wall holder and a real shower curtain.
