We did pick up some pasteis de nata at the airport...not Belem good but still quite tasty Far better than the dessert we would have had in the plane. LCC is right they do get a bit soggy next day. The Belem cafe serves so many of them that I susoect they will always be super fresh and the fact that they are warm, is heaven to me. They really are sooo creamy!

Love the food truck idea!!!

Thanks all for reading and commenting! Always a treat if a TR brings back fond memories of previous trip for the reader.

Neat trip report. I went to Lisbon a few years ago in October. It rained the whole time, but I was impressed at how much there was to see. Sintra is a gem!

denisea, loved your report and it brought back such great memories of our trip to Portugal last fall. Yes, we also stopped at that Starbucks (my DH was in heaven as he was craving Starbucks at that time) and also the Pasteis De Belem and they were wonderful. We also wished we had bought more when we were there. We loved staying at Pestana Palace and were glad my sister and her DH had recommended it to us. The Portuguese people we met were all very friendly and helpful and made our trip even more special.

Gazela Vinho Verde is my summertime wine. I just bought a mixed case of white and Rose. Great sale at our ABC store.

You have me wanting to do Lisbon now. Sounds very nice.

flpab, we just bought a case of Gazela Vinho Verde as well; $3.98 per bottle! What a tasty wine.

We also drove to Ludlow, MA to the local Portuguese bakery for delicious natas. They are definitely not all created equal. We bought some natas previous at another bakery closer to our home and they were very greasy.

We loved Lisbon and definitely plan to return and explore more of Portugal.

opaldog, I paid that also. It was 8.99 at the grocery but ABC had it on sale. The rose is sparkly also.
Denise, Publix, the grocery store all over Fl has President butter with sea salt from Normandy. It comes in a little dome container. It is so good. I just remembered us talking about French butter.

Thanks...my husband bought some vinho verde at Total Wine and gave it away as a gift! Will have to get more and I will look for the butter. I have never even thought to look for it at Publix!

We really enjoyed Lisbon...so much more we didn't get to!
