London: Will Borough Market be open the Saturday between Christmas and New Year's?

I checked their webpage but didn't see a calendar.

Anyone know if they might be opened?

Thank you.

I imagine it would. It's not a tourist attraction but a market for Londoners to do their shopping.

No, but it services the people who live in the area and I'd imagine that is a busy time for the merchants. Some of the people that come in from the counties for the big Friday and Sat day openings might not be there but the regular stallholders should be open.

If they are open and the scallop man from dorset is there, have a few. You've not evert tasted a scallop until you've had one of those.

Brilliant !!

Perhaps we will make early morning trips on all three days!

I'll be sure to check out the scallop man too.

Do you have any other favorite vendors (besides Neal Yards)?

My husband loves the venison burger man, I prefer the pork that's sold on the street side!

My experience of major markets is that many stalls will be closed - either because the stallholder is on holiday or because they can't get any supplies

We'll hope for the best as far as vendors are concerned and hopefully find some tasty treats to prepare in our flat.

Jody, thank you for the pictures. Here are a few of mine from our last visit. I believe I bought flowers from Chez Michele for my sister. Amazingly, I was able to keep those flowers alive on our trip to Cambridge -- it wasn't easy, but I did it!

The market should be open, esp since 28-29 Dec do not fall on bank holidays. Though agree with alanRow partially that SOME of the stalls would be closed.

BTW, my recollection from the last couple of years is that the market should be open throughout the week (not just Fri/Sat) one week (or was it two weeks?) before Christmas.
