London Venues

Hard to give you a comprehensive answer, there are so many and it depends on the type of music you like, whether you want small clubs or a "big" show. Can range from Wembley Arena to Royal Albert Hall to Brixton Academy and many more. If you are into rock or pop music, I'd suggest for larger shows picking up the January and/or February issue of Q magazine, which is fairly well available in the rest of Europe, US and Canada and perusing the listings in the back. Can also look on ticketmaster.co.uk and also Way Ahead (do a Google search for that one). For small shows and other genres, probably just pick up a Time Out as soon as you get in and see what is appealing and go.

Marina,

Hi. Another good source of information is www.timeout.com - click on London, and then if you click on "tickets", then at the bottom of the next page is a link for "music top sellers". It then lists events by different types of music.

Happy travels,

Karen

The Britpop schene is centred around camden town which has lots of club venues:

I would recommend:

Underworld (by the tube)

Dublin CAstle (parkway)

Water Rats (Grays Inn Rd)

Also watch out for shows at the roundhouse and at the Marquee Club in Islington.

For pubs; Blakes, the crown and goose (MTV's pub), THe Good Mixer (popular with musos) and the Engineer are all good.

If you want further specific info please feel free to email.
