London Vegetarian Dining Options
We'll be in London in a few weeks and would welcome suggestions for nice restaurants for dinner that have vegetarian options. We eat cheese, pasta, and eggs and lots of vegies, of course. We prefer Italian and Asian, and bistros or cafes that have vegetarian selections, too. Kid friendly is also a plus!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Wagamama's is great - there are several scattered around London.

Most of the museums and galleries have good cafes and almost all offer several Vegetarian choices. Some of the best are at the V&A, Nat'l, Nat'l Portrait, and Tate Modern.

Pret a porter always has several Veg sanwiches and salads on offer.

Any place in China town (soho) or most italian/greek/indian restaurants.

janis.that was funny ~and I knew what you meant! must have the same mind set,~clothes food same thing~We don't eat meat and we found that any Indian Restaurant in London is good, then there are the small Italian places in Soho near or on Firth street,Harrods has Food Halls that are fantastick and you can spend the day picking out cheeses and such!Check into Access London guide books, they are good for finding everything.

If you're prepared to travel slightly outside the main tourist drag, the best vegetarian restaurant in London is called The Gate, and is on Queen Caroline Street in Hammersmith, west London. It's close to Hammersmith tube, very accessible by cab and is an absolute joy to behold. The food is outstanding - creative, delicious and not expensive - and the staff are poppets! I believe there is also an outpost in Belsize Park, north London. Take a look at their website www.gateveg.co.uk
