Day 5

Hampton Court: We are very excited about visiting the Palace. We used the 2 for 1 ticket. You can get them at the days out web page or they have a booklet at the train station when you buy your ticket. We also got a discount the the train tickets because we had loaded a 7 day travel card for zones 1-3 on our oyster.

sorry clicked wrong button..

We arrived at around 10am. It was not crowded until around 11-12 noon. The Palace is an interesting mix of Tudor and Georgian Styles.

The Gardens were beautiful. We walked the maze and found the center. We grabbed something to eat in one of the cafes. A little on the expensive side but that's to be expected at a tourist spot. We spent 6 hours here although it didn't seem like that long.

Traveling to and from was very easy with the train.

When we got back into the city we stopped for dinner at Bella Italia on Evershot St. It is across from Victoria Station. It was a nice change from pub grub. The service and food were great. We got a starter, 2 meals and drinks for 37.40 pounds. We got very lucky with finding places to eat with good food and reasonable prices.

I'm pretty sure those codes have been discontinued.

Day 6

We went to the Victoria and Albert Museum. We went through a few of the rooms. There are several beautiful collections. Again we just toured the highlights because of the sheer volume.

We also went to Harrod's. Wow! I have never been to a department store this large. If you can't find it at Harrod's it doesn't exist!

Next was the London Eye. The lines were not long. There were only seven people in our pod. The views are fantastic. We got some wonderful skyline pictures.

We also did London Walks "Westminster by Gaslight". It was a 2 hour walk. Our guide was Simon. He was great. We learned alot and had a wonderful time. I would recommend doing this.

It was a long day but we had a wonderful time.
