London to Paris
What is the easiest way to get from London to Paris. Train, Airplane or Ferry? After doing some research I think flying is the cheapest, and doesnt take too long. I would love to do the ferry.. but getting from London to Dover and then to Paris seems like it be so much of a hassel for us (we're backpacking) and its more $. Any suggestions??

if you mean from the ceneter of London to the center of Paris - by far the easiest and fastest is the train.
When you look at those "cheap" airfares you need to factor in the cost of getting out to the airport -- plus the extra time it take for travel/advance check in.
Where are you starting from in London??

Oh - just noticed you are the same OP who is asking for a hostel in London . . . .
Welcome to Fodors. There are folks on here who know everything (or just about everything) about London -- give us some more details. Like budget? how long? and so on . . . .

Haha. hi. you can see Im new to this! We are doing a trip from London, to Paris..Nice, Cannes, etc. Then to Barcelona and Madrid. I've been given the responsibility of planning the entire trip - which I don't mind - but I'm feeling overwhelmed. I've only been to Italy before... I will def be asking some more questions soon, and will be sure to give more details. thank you!

Having done the train, the ferry and a plane. I vote for Eurostar. The ferry was nice but it's a LONG trip to Paris from the coast.
The plane is just stuck with the issues of airtravel. My BMI flight was two hours late.
The train seems to be on time and as others have pointed out, has a better location.

Check fares in both pounds and dollars. For pounds and tickets www.eurostar.com and in the U.S. i always recommend BETS (800-441-2387) for their expertise and lack of some of Raileurope's mailing fees. Hard to tell which one will be better - perhaps more than not pounds ones are these days but check both sources. Can reserve in U.S. at least up to nine months in advance and to get some of the super cheap fares book as far in advance as possible and avoid Fri, Sat Sun for best deals.
The train-boat-train is an all-day marathon - nice experience but lots of non seamless transfers from train at Dover to boats, ditto on other side.
When flying factor in cost of getting to the airport, long check-in time and same on other side - can cost $15-25 each way from airports by public transport. Train goes city centre to city centre and is infinitely more comfy than planes and quicker as well on this run - 2.5 hours about - plane time loading, unloading, transport to/from airports a hassle to me.
one-way fares in U.S. begin around $90 on the train ($50 if under 26)
