Hi everyone! I'm a college student doing a study abroad in London from the middle of April to the end of June. I'll have classes and some free time during the week, and weekends totally open. Our classes end the second week of June, but I'm staying with a few of my friends to backpack around through july. I'm hoping to see as much of western Europe as possible while I am there. I speak English and conversational German, and am learning French, and a friend of mine speaks fluent Spanish, so lack of communication in the country hopefully won't be too much of a problem. We want to experience as much art and culture of the different countries as we can, without spending ridiculous amounts of money. We are poor college students, after all
I would love any suggestions of places to go and things to see! I am basically clueless, other than the obvious landmarks in the different countries (we are interested in any of the European countries, not just the ones tagged), so anything will be appreciated. Thank you so much!

And maybe going to a book store or library and seeing what interests you. You will also get lots of ideas once you are here so you may want to stay flexible.

Another vote for the so called Green Spain along the Northern coast. Beautiful landscapes, vibrant cities, small villages and shifting cultures. http://www.greenspain.org/

So do you have the entire month of July? I would probably suggest you do day or weekend trips to places in the UK that you want to see so you can spend the rest of your time on the continent. Given that it's a pretty huge place and you say you haven't any specific "must sees" I think you need to find a way to narrow it down. I'd get an "overview" guide book - one that does all of Europe and just start skimming. I personally choose where to go by looking at photos and seeing what "grabs" me. Then I read up on the place and decide. Once you have picked a few areas then you can come back here and ask more specific questions.
