Mel,
Check out www.whatson.com You'll find a listing of London plays, seating plans, reviews, prices, etc. Concerts are listed as well.

Your best bet is to get a copy of Time Out, the weekly guide, which is available at Borders or Barnes and Noble. Very detailed critiques (like the New Yorker movie section), with major cast members listed, charge lines, etc.

LONDON THEATRE GUIDE - ONLINE
The website location is: http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/
Also, as someone else mentioned look in the "Time Out" guide. You can pick up a current copy when you arrive in London. It's published weekly & covers current listings of: theatre, film, music, etc.

If it's still playing I'd recommend "Amadeus". I saw it last month and thought it was marvelous. It's in a beautiful theatre, the Old Vic. I also saw "Art" and "An Inspector Calls" but my favorite was "Amadeus".
