London pubs with 7 year old?

We are visting London for 5 days in early July with my daughter, her husband and my 7 year old grandson. I have read on here that pre-teens are a problem in pubs. Are there any pubs that will allow the boy in with us? Do any have outside seating that will allow him? We think it would be fun to have a few pints on the 4th of July!

I think you should limit the 7 year old to half pints.

Try Porter's near Convent Garden. It is a pretty tame place. It is written up in most of the guide books and would probably fit what you are looking for.
I agree with Jake on the half pints

If you go to http://www.pubs.com/

you will see a list of child friendly pubs.
I quote from the site "Many pubs have a Childrens Certificate, which allows children into the pub. Pubs often restrict where and at what times children are allowed, usually children cannot stay after 21.30. All children must be accompanied by an adult (over 18 years of age). Even if the pub is listed here, it is a good idea to check with the bar staff as to what restrictions apply. Most pubs welcome well behaved children but reserve the right to refuse entry"

We went to a pub with a "chidrens certificate" in Bayswater, right on Bayswater Rd. They have outdoor, picnic table type seating as well. They also have a back room with a piano player and singalongs (I think on Sunday nights)... It's called the While Swan. Our kids loved it, though anywhere indoors is a bit smokey so we didn't spend too much time there.
