I will be spending 3 nights in London after a mediteranean cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions as to things I must see or do? Also, I will be staying at the Regency Park Hilton does anyone know how centrally located that is.

I was in London for about 1 day so I am not an expert. However, since my trip was really rushed I took a bus tour which was very good any they stop at every major stop. London Pride gives you a ticket
that last 24 hours so you can get off the bus, look around and catch another bus. I believe the buses ran very often so you do not have to wait long!
If I was you, I would take 2 days to tour the city at the most and at least 1 day to just go to pubs, shop, and just relax! A rushed trip may provide plenty of experiences but you may miss out on something!!

Some things I recall we enjoyed in London: Tower of London, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, trip up Thames to Greenwich, St. Paul's Cathedral, walking through the City, Museum of City of London, Fortnum and Mason's tea shop and store (near Picadilly Circus).

Beyond those places already mentioned, Hampton Court Palace can be reached by bus, or by underground and bus. It is wonderful

If I may be allowed an additional post, try to visit the great churches during a service. It adds to much to see them during worship.

I just returned from England yesterday and spent 3 days in London. I have been to London many times in the past but it was a first visit for my husband and i wanted to make sure he saw all the London "must sees".
Here's what we did: Hampton Court Palace (train from Waterloo), Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, walk through Hyde Park (plus a visit to Kensington Palace), National Gallery, Harrods (very briefly - it was terribly crowded - just go and see the food halls), Patisserie Valerie (for great pastries), pub lunches, one show ("Martin Guerre") and lots of walking round the must-see areas (Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Houses of Parliament). Have a wonderful time..it's an incredible city!

I lived in London some years ago and travel there once very few years. In addition to the other recommendations, do not miss Sir John Soanes (sp?) museum on the Lincoln's Inn of Court. The tour is free and a real treat. For Indian food near the theatre district, the Tale of India on New Row is excellent both before and after a show. Miss Saigon and Blood Brothers were both superb musicals. Enjoy you trip.

I agree with Jim Blaul - the pubs are a must see. Try to go to one in the suburbs of London to get the feel of a real english family type pub. I had my first job in one while living in London. The atmosphere is very friendly and the people will make you feel at home.
