London Luton Airport- Thameslink

Has anyone used the Thameslink trains from Luton airport to central London? Are there other convenient transportation to/from Luton airport? I am taking Easyjet to Paris from London in May, and not sure about how to get to/from Luton. I would definitely prefer the underground to taxi.
Thank you.

The cheapest way is the Greenline 757 bus. It stops next to Victoria Station and also from Marble Arch/Park Lane stop X (next to the park, not near the Hilton). If you book on Easyjet, you are entitled to an internet fare of GBP8 return (very cheap!).

If you go by Thameslink, there may be more walking. One of the stops is the Kings Cross Thameslink station which is across the road and a little ways from the main King Cross station. I have never taken that train. I think one needs to connect by bus to Luton from the Luton Airport Parkway station.

There are some websites with more information. I think the easyjet website has some information.

The 757 bus has luggage space under the bus (like the American Greyhound buses). It also stops in Finchley (North London) but I forgot where. It might be near the Swiss Cottage station.

Thameslink is fine, BUT if you're going TO Luton from London
- trains originate at Brighton or Gatwick. So there's a high chance they'll be 10-15 mins delayed by the time they get to central London (Equally the 757 is subject to traffic delays). NEVER be late for Easyjet. So allow extra time in your schedule.
- The main Central London station is Kings Cross Thameslink. But there are other central London stations that may be more convenient for you. See www.thameslink.co.uk/planning_your_journey/route_map.shtml
- Although the Thameslink station at Kings Cross is a few hundred yards away from the main station, it's a straight connection by Tube: just get off the Tube and follow the Thameslink signs INSIDE the tube station. Slightly longer than some tube connections, and a few more stairs to walk up and down. But much less painful than coming out of the tube. Cabs can't stop directly outside the Thameslink entrance

Thanks for the info.
The other Thameslink stops are Farrington, City Thameslink, Blackfriars, London Bridge. As I plan to stay near Victoria Station area, I think, from the tube map, that Blackfrairs is closest. Anyone familiar with these stations?

When I did this last summer, I found that the changes and walks between the changes seemed like they would be too difficult with all our luggage, etc. I called Swiss Cottage Cars and they picked us up in Central London and delivered us to Luton for a total of 35 pounds (for the two of us). It was worth every "pence"!!!!

From the Thameslink to Victoria, the easiest connection probably is through Blackfriars. You take an escalator down into the underground station concourse, then down some steps to the District/Circle line westbound to Victoria. From there it's a couple of sets of staircases up to street level. Alternatively, you could take a taxi from Blackfriars (the Thameslink platform is more or less at street level, but you'll have to walk a few yards round the corner to see any passing taxis).

You could theoretically change at Kings Cross Thameslink to the Victoria line, but there's a fair bit of walking through passages to get into the underground station, or at Farringdon which shares a station with the Underground Circle line, but there's a lot of stairs and a longer boring ride on the Circle.
