London-- Lunch near cabinet war rooms

I'm looking for a decent place to eat lunch, walking distance from the cabinet war rooms. any suggestions?

We were there in September 2006. If I recall correctly there is a cafe at the museum. I think we got some water there.

The museum is right near St. James Park & Buckingham Palace. You leave the museum and walk through the park to the Palace. And past the palace is Victoria Station. There are shops/eateries, etc along the way. I cannot recommend any place in particular, but you could always eat at the train station - lots of stuff there.

Or you can have lunch in the park - there are hot dog stands, etc. So you could have a little picnic...

Try one of the pubs on Whitehall - you never know Tony might just pop in

The War rooms have a new-ish cafe - but if it were me I'd eat at the <i>Inn the Park</i> in St James Park. Just a short walk around the lake.

Blightyboy: That is WHY it put the <u>name of the restaurant</u> in <i>italics</i> -- so folks who don't know the place will know it is a restaurant.

Inn the Park is a very nice restaurant IN St Jame Park.
