Generally against HOHO bus - costs a ton of dough for the same ride you could get with the #9 and #15 routes.

I just viewed the www.londontown.com site and found much information that excited me. The restaurant suggestions, attractions, transportation, shopping, markets, and highlights of areas, were all very helpful.

I am disappointed that The Shard will not be open until February 1st, 2013, but we are going to go to The Eye. The fare is $30 I believe...and should be well worth it.

I am beginning to wonder what the weather will be like the 17th of August through the 30th. We don't want to bring things that weigh too much and not wear them. Suggestions ??

Ask again on the 16th. Even then you may not know.

No matter the weather, you pretty much take the same things - layers.

Thank you. I am packing for 15 days. 8 days on a cruise and the remainder in London area. Hopefully, some of the items I pack (which I am mixing up) will work as layers, too.

Maybe that is why I favor tropical areas. When it's hot you just take more off. When it is 60 F here we are chilly. Since I have gotten so many ideas from Fodorites...I am now more familiar with the boroughs of London.

I wish I were taking my laptop with me. Since I have not transported it to areas that I was familiar with and friends' homes, and have so much loaded on it, I would regret having it "lifted" from me. Any thoughts on this?

It looks like we may be getting all or some of Hurricane Earnesto here, or close. Being in Alabama and Texas (homes in both) we may be traveling in the storms to get to our airline destination (IAH) and to London. We will know more mid-week this coming week. Say a prayer it dissapates.

Really that site www.londontown.com has proven very informative. It has "everything" you could want to know!

What time does the sun go down and get dark in London?

Thanks and more later.

Well guys, we are leaving on our trip tomorrow afternoon (the 16th) and will definitely benefit from your tips and suggestions.

When we return...I will let you know what we really enjoyed.

More later and thanks so much.
