Jana - Last two times we visited London we stayed at Mowbray Court Hotel near Earl's Court underground stop. It is recommended in Arthur Frommer's Little Black Book of Budget Hotels. We found the Hotel adequate with doubles just under $100.www.M-C-Hotel.mcmail.com

Right now staying at County Hall, opposite Houses of Parliament L68.95 for a huge room (one double bed and one single) I guess that's slightly over $100 but pretty good value.

We stayed at a small hotel, almost renovated Georgian, near the British museum called the Thanet. The room was decent size, very clean, full English breakfast at about $115. Very easy to get to from Heathrow by using the subway which stops only a few blocks away.

We found many bed and breakfast options
in "The Best Bed and Breakfast" by the Globe Pequot Press for under 50GBP.
Call toll free from the US/Can
011-800-852-26320. Tell them where and when you would like to stay and they will give you some options.

Jana, try the Budget B&B ([email protected]); they're not centrally centrally located, but is only a 20 minute train ride out of "central london". A single should run you about $30/night. However, I think they're booked the weekend of 3/16 - 3/18, but try anyway. Go to Yahoo and type in London Bed & Breakfasts and their website should pop right up. It sounds very clean and comfortable and CHEAP!

Jana, try looking on this site:
http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/index.html . There are tons of listings. (I kind of like the Belgrave Road area near Victoria station, but everyone has their own preferences and reasons).

Gosh someone actually answered me!!!!!!! Recognition at long last (HA!)

I usually phone as you can't make bookings for this hotel via net. Tel: 00 44 207 902 1600.

I think rooms on the side of building are the nicest as you can (particularly with a corner room) get a fantastic view of the Thames and the wheel.

Taxi from Victoria Station to County Hall cost me L5.50 plus a tip. (thought you may like a rough idea of cost) When leaving if you call a minicab from the hotel be careful as I waited about 30 minutes when he promised 10. I've stayed in lots and lots of London Hotels and if you want a balance of reasonably low cost, cleanliness and good location, I think this hotel hard to beat.
