Hi,

We'll be in London for just 2 nights this summer and are looking for a place to stay (2 adults and a "tween"). With not much time, we were hoping to stay someplace pretty central (maybe West End or Westminster?). I was hoping to keep the cost under 200 pounds, but I am having problems finding places that 3 people could fit in a room and am starting to wonder if I should consider going up to 250 GBP. I've spent a fair amount of time looking for an apt., but 2 nights is too short for many of them.

Any suggestions for where to stay? Should I look more towards Paddington-- seems like hotels there might run a bit cheaper but a little further away? Should I try to bump the budget up a bit? (Citadines Holborn is about 280 pounds, Nadler Kensington is about 250).

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I wouldn't stay near padding ton... Have you checked premier inn? County hall, black friars, southbank locations on their website are all good locations, and so is their Victoria location.

Check out the London School of Economics. They sometimes include breakfast, and all have either kitchen priviledges or a kitchen or kitchenett. They have everything from single dorm rooms, to suites and apartments. And I don't think there is a minimal time required. Also, they have several locations...

Thanks. Most of them are quoting me over 300 pounds but if I take a nonrefundable reservation I could get Blackfriars for under 200.

I'm a little embarrassed, but it looks like when the Premier Inns were quoting me over 300 pounds, that was for both nights, not per night. Off to look more carefully at those.

I checked the LSE and it seemed from what I can tell they are unavailable over the summer (although I would have thought it might be the reverse?).

Recheck others too. Go to Londontown.com and the interactive map may give you better information.

Thanks. I saw that thread but it focused mostly on apts as they would have a week or more. Leaning towards Premier Inn Blackfriars right now.
