Yes, we could do with more information, really! If you want a *really* good hotel, I can suggest plenty but they would be out of most people's budget.

Take a look at http://www.ukhotel.com/london for some initial ideas...

Paul
Connie: Since we don't know your price range, preferred location, taste, etc., try these Web sites:

http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk
or
http://www.hotel-assist.com
or
http://www.demon.co.uk

If it's a budget hotel that you are seeking, here's several suggestions:
------------

Crescent Hotel
49-50 Cartwright Gardens, WC1H 9EL (0171 387 1515/ fax 0171 383 2054)
Russell Square tube or Euston tube/rail. Rooms 24 (18 en suite). Rates (incl English breakfast) single £38-£55; double/twin £71. Credit MC, £TC, V. Hotel services Fax. Lounge. Multilingual staff. Safe. Room services TV.
This pleasant, family-run B&B, in a Regency house dotted with antiques, overlooks crescent-shaped gardens containing tennis courts (which guests can use).

Elizabeth Hotel
37 Eccleston Square, SW1V 1PB (0171 828 6812)
Victoria tube/rail. Rooms 40 (35 en suite). Rates (incl English breakfast) single £40-£55; double £62-£80; triple £96; quad £106-£115. Credit £TC. Hotel services Lounge. Multilingual staff. Payphone. Room services TV.

Located on a stately mid nineteenth-century garden square, the Elizabeth is hung with numerous Victorian etchings, engravings, prints and portraits. Rooms are comfortable and well kept. One of the best B&Bs in the area.

Hotel 167
167 Old Brompton Road, SW5 OAN (0171 373 0672/ fax 0171 373 3360)
Gloucester Road tube. Rooms 19 (18 en suite). Rates (incl breakfast) single £66-£78; double £82-£90; triple £105. Credit AmEx, MC, £TC, V. Hotel services Fax. Multilingual staff. Room services Hairdryer. Refrigerator. Satellite TV. Tea/coffee.

A highly recommended hotel (as featured in Jane Solomon's novel of the same name) with real panache. Every room has been individually designed with flair, combining funky, bright colours with antiques. The reception-cum-breakfast room is decked out with marble tables and large modern paintings.

Swiss House Hotel
171 Old Brompton Road, SW5 0AN (0171 373 2769/ fax 0171 373 4983/recep@swiss-hh
demon.co.uk/www. webscape.co.uk/swisshouse). Gloucester Road tube. Rooms 16 (15 en suite). Rates (incl breakfast) single £39-£56; double £72; triple £84; quad £96. Credit AmEx, DC, JCB, MC, £TC, V. Hotel services Fax. Laundry. Multilingual staff. No-smoking rooms. Room services Limited room service (noon-9pm). Satellite TV. Telephone.

From the green foliage outside to dried flowers and russet carpets inside, every effort has been made to give the Swiss House the feel of an English country cottage. Good value for money.
OH, forgot to mention that the prices (post above) may not be current as it's from info that I collected for trip to London a couple years ago. BUT the hotels listed are decent places for a good value.
