If you would like to walk around London, perhaps you could check: It is a 40 miles trails in South East London, through some beautiful landscapes, historical monuments and interesting boroughs. You could reach each poiint easily by public transport. I have enjoyed walking several sections.

You could obtain a brochure covering the routes by mail or from Tourist Centre in Greenwich.

I did this hike a few years ago, it was a great way to spend a day:

I did it in late March/early April, if memory serves, and because I dawdled over a number of things I didn't quite make it all the way this author did before it became late afternoon/time to turn back. I think I also didn't get going until well past 10 in the morning, so a few extra hours (or really, a few extra weeks later = daylight savings time) would have made a big difference.

there are pubs along the route, so you can stop and have a pint and talk to the locals... you'll see families out doing this walk on the weekends (England in general is mecca for walkers - pick up an Ordnance Survey map or even just some guidebooks which will outline walks for you, all over the country...)

would like to hear what you decide!
