London for a day

Three twenty-something women traveling to London, from Paris, for a day in September. What to do and what to see? Any suggestions?

Green Park just off the Mall is a lovely place to have lunch there is a really nice snackbar just by the duckpond and you can sit outside weather permitting.
I would recommend going to Westminster Abbey and taking the guided tour. One of the beautiful parks would be a great place for lunch. St. James Park and Green Park aren't far from Westminster Abbey. Have fun.

I too would do the Abbey, the buildings around Parliament and some time in the park, or at a pub south towards Victoria Station if the weather isn't good. That just the morning though. Time permitting and weather permitting for the afternoon, I would take the boat ride down the Thames to Greenwhich, visit the Cutty Sark and go through the observatory. Take Docklands Light train back home to save time.

If the weather is bad, switch gears and spend the whole afternoon in the British Museum. If so, I'd have dinner in the Chinese district, although the Vietnamese and Thai restaurants seemed better when I was there in Sept.

At night, if you've still got the nergy and time, try a show. Or just pub the night away close to your hotel.
