London arrival

Is it possible to do Windsor? Yes, I guess so but I wonder what kind of shape you will be in assuming you are arriving on a trans continental flight.

You have to figure an hour to go through immigration and customs (distances are long at Heathrow), another hour to get into town so that puts you into town at about 10 AM. You will almost surely be able to leave your baggage at your hotel even though it is most likely your room will not be ready.

So after dropping your luggage, you can go off to the train station (Waterloo) to pick up the train for Windsor...

You'll be able to do the whole thing in the afternoon. But I don't think you'll be in any shape to really enjoy your visit. Of course, if you can sleep soundly on the plane, well that's a different story....

If you are up to it, it is easy to get to Windsor from LHR before heading into London. And you don't need to decide ahead of time - if you are wiped out go to your hotel, if you have some energy go to Windsor.

After immigration at LHR take a taxi (it is only about 7 miles) to Windsor train station. There are two stations in Windsor - Riverside and Central - both are near the castle but central is right there. Leave your luggage in left luggage at the station and wander around the town and visit the castle. Then walk back to the station and catch a train into central London and go to your hotel.

Alternatively - leave your bags in left luggage at LHR, taxi to Windsor, return to LHR after a few hours and catch the Paddington Express into London.

Windor is 40 Miles from london (probably about 35 from heathrow.) So "doable".

As for Wimbledon, if you mean the tennis you will neeed to have tickets arranged, they are like gold dust, otherwise don't bother with Wimbledon, ther's not much there (and I am allowed to say this as I live there).
