They have rentals in many areas of London in 3 price ranges, so, there is more then likely something for everyone. I have used them several times and have not been disappointed. Will be staying in The Mansions in Earls Court in May.

I have just rented from londonrentalflats.com. I have found the owners easy to work with and very helpful so far. Trip not until May so I can't say how the accomodations were but they appear to be good.

I rented an apartment from Craig's List in Clerkenwell, just east of Bloomsbury, for 55 pounds a night. I've had excellent luck renting on Craig's list in the past, and this apartment looks like a winner. If you want the info, email me at aol.co

I've had great success with www.londonconnections.com, especially since payments are taken in US dollars. I've stayed with them three times, and will again here in a few weeks. The people are wonderful and the apartments are centrally located and with kitchens and wi-fi.

Bumping this up for myself and anyone else interested.

We are traveling June 20 - July 4, planning 1st week in London. We are budget/economy travelers - accomodations are for showering, eating quick breakfast, checking emails on our laptops, downloading photos. Maybe maybe napping during the day. Two teenage boys. Is $200/night unreasonable?

Would love a two bedroom, three beds, self serviced apartment with a washer/dryer (see above: TEENAGE BOYS pee-ew who won't sleep in the same bed), wi-fi, not a far walk from a tube (zone 2 OK - figures it will save us $$?) if neighborhood is safe and has pubs/stores. I don't know all the neighborhoods in detail. I hear Bayswater is cheap and ethnic (thats good!), and The City is a dead zone. Wharf is trendy (we don't care) and $$$? I know we are there during Wimbledon - luck of the vacation draw - so maybe staying other side of town would catch us better deals?

I'm staying in a pretty nice apartment right now (spring break) for holidaylets.netnthat sounds close to what you want and is running me about 200/night. Thanks Laura - thats about what we would love (each kid gets own room) but I know it comes at a price. It isn't available for our dates and its $285/night. If thats going rate, so be it. I'll noodle around the website though, if you were happy with it.

It's been three years since we stayed there, but we liked P.C. Tustin Holiday Flats www.pctustin.com. It's not luxury but clean and comfortable and the price, IMO, is right -- running around $142 per night (have to reserve for a week) for a two bedroom, 1 bath. On the website it appears that the flats have been updated since we were there. Location in Marylebone, off Baker Street, convenient to Baker Street tube. If you're walkers, you can walk to Oxford Street -- or take the bus -- stop nearby.

Thanks crckwc1. I'm interested in how you found the Tustin Flats. I'd like a booking site where I can call/enter my data and it will find or a person will help me find accommodations instead of going one by one.

If I may ask, the Tustin doesn't have laundry in the room. They say there is a laundrette nearby. I don't want to babysit my laundry when I could be sleeping or sightseeing...how did you do it? My hubby washes his travel clothes in the sink. I am SO not doing that. Also, they don't have wi-fi, what did you do for net access (we do most of our surfing after dinner, when we are home for the evening and don't want to be on the streets)

Do NOT use Citadine Apart'hotel at Trafalgar. While the location cannot be beat, I felt it was a big rip-off. The AC quit the day after we arrived (July), management could care less telling me that it was breaking all over the building and does it fairly regularly. Breakfast was terrible. Desk and staff were rude and couldn't be bothered. $900 for 2 nights and wasn't worth $50. After my return I sent several emails to Citadines headquarters and never got so much as a thank you.

This is, in fact, the only place I have ever actively tried to steer people away from.
