As far as I know, Parisian-style macarons are not really known in the UK, though it's possible there's a French patisserie somewhere in London that makes them.

If you ask for macaroons in London, you will get a much larger almond-flavoured cake with a very gooey centre.

But I'd be happy to be corrected by an expert.

Paul in Marylebone High St. have a whole selection of them, even rose flavoured ones.

Not really my tastes, but they're not bad.

Yeah, I figured that I might not be able to find one in London. =( I would love to go to Paris but really don't have the time to. I think some of my relatives will be traveling to Paris then meeting us in London. I will see if they can go to Laduree to get me some. How long do they keep for? They will probably arrive in London 2 days before I will. Will they still be good?

What do you mean that you can't find one in London? I've just told you that Paul in Marylebone High St. (A French style bakery) sell a wide variety of flavours of them...go there!

ANd there is a patisserie called Paul in the Vaults at London Bridge station - don't know if it's the same firm as at Marylebone.

Yes it's the same - 'Paul' is a growing chain in London (originaly from France - so it's the 'real deal')
