London 7 days need hotel recs?

Sorry to be posting again but I can't find my original post. I will be in london for 7 days and need a hotel recommendation. I would like to spend around 60pds per night and will be by myself so am looking for clean, spacious and secure hotel.

I will be there in oct/nov. I would love to stay in the central area but will go further if a tube stop is near the hotel. W

Windermere was one recommendation on another board. has anyone stayed there or do you have any other recommendations? I have been to london before but was in a hotel in the outskirts (novotel i think it was) and I am looking for something closer to central london.

thanks
If you continue to scroll down I'm sure you'll find posts with this exact information, since the question comes up daily. In case not, try smoothhounds.com or hotel-assist.com. Both sites list London hotels by area, give prices by month and show pictures. I've always had good luck finding deals on there. Some I've stayed at and liked: Adelphi and Burns (now called, I beleive Kensington Burns). I've checked out the Montana and it looks good (renovated last year), but have never been able to get in. You should have no problem getting into a decent boutique-style hotel at that rate during Oct-November and the ones on the site include en suite baths and, usually, full breakfast.

Have a great trip!

stayed at Byron Hotel just off Kensington Park in Bayswater. located within three blocks of both Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. I got a single there on the net for 50 pounds. Rooms were small but clean, personnel helpful-has tv and air cond.-excellent Chinese restaurants nearby on Queensway. Hotel official site is www.capricornhotels.co.uk search other booking sites may find lower price for same hotel. It is highly unlikely you will find a "spacious" room in London for anything close to that price.

A big hotel, but with pretty good prices that time of year, is the Strand Palace. You might give them a try; they certainly fit the requirements of security, central location, and all the amenities you could want.

I just booked a room from hoteldiscounts.com for the Millenium (sic) Bailey right next to the Gloucester station for $109USD ($139 including taxes) which is a excellent price for a 4-5 star property. Great location!

I was staying at the Arran House hotel and loved it. It's a B&B very central (near the British Museum and London school of Economics) close to the tube and it is a safe area.

It has a nice garden in the back (try to get a room facing the back) and it includes an all you can eat English breakfast (buffet). Rates should be within your budget.

Beds are very comfy and rooms are impeccable and quite big by london standard.

try this site : http://www.london-hotel.co.uk/
