I'm looking for recommendations for the valley area, Logarska Dolina in Slovenia. Does it matter a lot where one stays in the vicinity to be able to do some hikes and drive the valley? Any suggestions on where to stay and places to stay?

We loved Logarska Dolina - one of my fav parts of our trip to Slovenia. We stayed at Hotel Plesnik pre-renovation. It was simple back then but we didn't care because of the views outside. The scene was just lovely. Looks like they have modernized it over the last couple of years.

Thanks, mnag. The area looks beautiful, can't wait. Hotel Plesnik is now the "fancy" hotel in the area. Its rather pricey relative to the many other small places. Does it matter if you stay 5 miles or so away from there? There are many places from which to choose, but I can't figure out which location would be good or does it even matter. We'll be there in May so I doubt it will be very many people on the roads.
