Locanda Sturion in Venice

Has anyone stayed at Locanda Sturion in Venice? We booked a Grand Canal room for my husband and two kids overlooking the Grand Canal by the Rialto Bridge. Is it noisy?

My husband and I stayed in Grand Canal room at the Locanda Sturion on our honeymoon in 1997. We would return in a heartbeat. The room wasn't noisy and it was air conditioned so you don't have to keep the windows open for a breeze at night. We really enjoyed watching the boats go by below. The only drawback is that they do not have an elevator.

My husband & I stayed @ the Sturion in Jan. of '98. We did not have a canal view room, but a very clean, pretty and SMALL one. It's nice, with polite service, and MANY stairs to climb to get there! We're going back on the 14th, and not staying there, but @ the Marconi (again, right by the Rialto). Got a better price, and thought we'd try something different. Oh, and it is a bit noisy from the boat traffic (which we only experience while in the breakfast room). Have fun!

My husband and I were at that hotel for our honeymoon in 1996. We had booked a canal room, but the previous occupants had declined to vacate it, so we were placed in a non-view room our first night (which I thought was odd, they should have made the other people move but maybe they were regulars or something). They moved our stuff for us the next day. I thought it was well worth the price and the climb up those steep, slippery stairs! The breakfast room also has a great view.

We were there in May '99. We did not have a canal room but really enjoyed our stay there. We loved looking out at the canal from the breakfast room. We would have booked a canal view room but they were already taken. We found everyone there to be helpful.
