Local's Guide to Central London

Hi everyone,

We recently published a new story on the blog all about the best places to go in Central London: http://www.fodors.com/news/locals-gu...ndon-6056.html

London is one of my favorite cities and I'd love to hear your feedback. What do you think of the picks? Is The Golden Hind a good choice for fish and chips?

just a quick note: The Golden Hind is good (I haven't eaten there in a few years though). Others that I like are the Rock & Sole Plaice, and North Sea.

But I think some of the best are farther out of the center than many visitors would venture.

Isn't Rachel Felder based in New York City? So how did she become a London local?

Hi Amy - its a great article. As a thought if you really want to check out and consider reviewing a place where locals eat - even more local than fish and chips, you might enjoy this link http://wp.me/p2r6no-ad to a story about Manze Eel & Pie house - the oldest one in London and a place where people like David Beckham are known to go when in town. Typically won't find too many tourists hunting down an eel and pie place unless they are in the know!!

I second the recommendation for Rock and Sole, although not for the North Sea. (And I can't imagine anyone recommending mushy peas!!!) Also, I think the best deal for afternoon tea is the Orangery in Kensington Gardens. Not that I'm a local anymore.
