Ljubljana
I am visiting Ljubljana this summer and currently I am making my trip itineary but am not sure if I should spend 2 full days there or 3 full days. I would like to see the sites, take in the town ambiance and maybe rent bikes for half a day and ride through the city and the parks.
I want to see the whole city and not be rushed...but I don't want to become bored either. I'm a pretty energetic traveler but welcome the opportunity to spend a little time relaxing.
I could easily allocate an extra day elsewhere...in my trip if 2 days is plenty for LJU.

I spent one day seeing the city, one day visiting lake Bled, and one day on a locally-arranged tour of the Postojna caves and Predjama castle. I loved the city: "it's a charming, walkable city with a big river, pretty bridges (including one with dragons) and plenty of atmosphere, not to mention plenty of outdoor cafes. A good-looking-at-a-distance castle hovers over the city, whose old-world center is surrounded by Communist-era apartment blocks." and Lake Bled as well. The caves and castle were interesting but not in the same class.

We were there on a day trip from Lake Bled. We enjoyed it and think it could be stretched to 2 days but not more--if you have lots of other things you intend to see. It's a fine city though and you should alot at least a day--or maybe two. Lake Bled is beautiful and not to be missed.

We spent most of a day there and really enjoyed it. There aren't too many sites, but the city has a charming ambience to it. I think a day would probably be sufficient, but a second day would be nice as well. I think two days would be the maximum amount of time I could stay there without getting bored.
