Woke up to a bright, sunny day which we spent wandering around Lyon. Had a fabulous lunch at Le Potager des Halles at 3 Rue de la Martiniere. The couple from Lyon that we had met Saturday evening recommended this restaurant and it was an excellent rec. Starters were a delicious soup of shrimp, red pepper and boudin noir...sounds discordant, but it worked. GT had a wonderful terrine. We both had the roasted pork for our mains. Dessert was a warm chocolate cake and tiramisu. Of course this was accompanied by a pot of Cote de Rhone rouge. This meal with coffee was €50. Highly recommend this white table cloth restaurant. Might add that we had menu of the day at 18€ per person. Ala carte items were expensive, but sounded very good.
We continued wandering the rest of the afternoon. That evening it started to rain, so we spent our last night in our wonderful apt. Thus ends our perfect stay in lovely Lyon. We highly recommend a visit to this charming city.
In the morning we take the TGV to Dijon.

Can't wait to read about Dijon. Drat, I wished you'd been able to eat at Giovany's. There's a place for the next GTG!
Jay_G, because your name looked familiar, I found my 2010 Menton/Lyon TR and voila. We had a conversation about a baby! May I assume you've been back to Lyon and that he's giving you a merry chase?

TD - that's one heck of a memory you've got! My son does indeed give me the run around and he's now got a little sister to keep him company who's proving to be just as energetic!
We've been to Lyon quite a few times since 2010 and I've actually got an unfinished (slightly esoteric) trip report on the go at the moment about our last trip to Lyon over Christmas and the new year.
We're already planning our next trip back, possibly at Easter. As always, I can't wait...

Hi Louisa! Yes, it did strike me as a reunion of many from the DC GTG's. I always like to hear IRL about someone's plans and then read their TR.
glad u enjoyed the TR. i don't recall where u r off to next?
@jay-thanks again for all your tips and the well timed TR u started earlier this year. It was helpful. Lucky u, u get to Lyon so often.

Yestravel, you're exactly right and I've had the pleasure of hearing about several of your trips IRL and then reading about them.
Schnauzer, I'm recovering from knee replacement surgery and I'm doing great now; thanks for asking.
