Lisbon To Conimbriga
Is traveling from Lisbon to Conimbriga, relying on public transportation, doable as a one-day trip? We've visiting in early June and already have quite a few *must sees* on our agenda, but would like to include something further afield if possible. Have heard that the Roman ruins at Conimbriga are well worth visiting, so we'd like to include them on our trip. THANKS!

Debbie, yes Conimbriga is about 1 30h from Lisbon by car. If you are taking public transportation then take the train in Sta Apolonia station ( in Lisbon ) . If you take an early morning train and try to take a return train in the afternoon. Just make sure you have the schedules before you go.

Teresa-Thanks! Do you know where we could find a train schedule for this trip? Possibly on the internet? Does the train stop right in Conimbriga or in Coimbra, then take a bus from there? Where in Lisbon is Sta Apolonia located? We're staying in the Baxia district, near the Rossio. Feel free to e-mail directly.

Have heard good things about Obidos-do you know if there's a train from Lisbon to Obidos?

Any safety concerns to be aware of?
