Lisbon or Granada

Trying to plan our itenirary for Spain in late Oct/early Nov.

Deciding between 2 nights in Granada or 2 nights in Lisbon. Which would you choose?

Itenirary: Fly into Barcelona (3 nights)
Seville (2 nights)
Lisbon (2 nights)
Fly home from Lisbon
OR

Fly into Madrid and take AVE to Seville (2 nights)
Granada (2 nights)
Barcelona (3 nights)
Fly home.

What is the best way to get to Lisbon? The overnight train?

Granada is nice in the fall, but it will be cool and raining from time to time. It's been a number of years since we've been there, but if I had two days free, I would opt to visit Lisbon before it is rediscovered and overrun. It's far less expensive during any season and the food and wire are very good. You should give it a try and let the rest of us know how it went.

The quickest and easiest way to reach Lisbon would be to fly from Sevilla via Madrid.

Thank you for your reply Robert.

I too, am leaning towards Lisbon. I was just worried that I might truly be missing out on seeing the Alahambria in Granada.
But Food & Wine are a large part of why I travel, so you just sold me on Lisbon.

I just checked Iberia.com for tickets between Seville & Lisbon and they are $430 for a one way ticket!! No thanks! I thought they would be less expensive. Perhaps they will go down before then, or else we will be taking an overnight train (*Sigh*)

Rain ? You are much more likely to find that in Lisboa. Were we you, we'd go for plan #2 but spend a day/night in Cordoba on the way to Granada where we'd spend the other day/night. Aren't you spending any time in Madrid ? We lived in Spain for about 20 years and much prefer Madrid to Barcelona. Barcelona seems much more part of a trip to Provence, or could be.

Try europebyair.com for $99 one-way fares between many European cities. The best route we found there is Lisbon to Malaga. You can then take a train to Seville (via Cordoba, I think) which takes about 3 hours. We're planning a Sept/Oct trip and had to rearrange our dates a little because that airfare is sold out on some days. Good luck!
