Liquor Stores In Barcelona?

Hi All...
Has anyone been to a liquor store in Barcelona?

We're looking to purchase gin, vodka, bourbon ( Jim Beam) and sweet and dry vermouth.

Do you know if these selections are readily available...also, we'll be arriving on a Sunday...are liquor stores open on Sunday?

Is there a website that I can do some research on?

We'd prefer not to carry it over from the states and would rather get it there.

Thanks - Crowsie

Unless someone here can give you a specific grocery store and quote prices, you are probably best off buying at the duty-free shops at the airport when you arrive. These would be open on Sunday. Although many shops seem to be open on Sunday in Spain, they do close between 2-4 pm or at other hours for lunch, so figure this into your plans as well if you don't buy at the airport, as well as getting all the bottles back to your hotel. The only website I could find for Barcelona airport was in Spanish, but you might tri. www.aena.es

If you are transiting through another airport, like the UK, you could also buy liquor there. Please be advised that the EU has limits on how much liquor you can take into a country, check and EU website or a website for Spanish customs.

I can't remember the name of the store, Cort English, or something like that.
It is a large chain department store throughout Spain. In the basement is a big grocery section which has liquor. Also, you cannot buy from the duty free store at your arrival airport. Only at your departure and showing your boarding pass. If memory serves me, I believe the department store is open on Sunday.

Sorry, I have bought from duty free airports when arriving, have not done it in Spain, and don't know that the rules would be different.

Deparment stores and supermarkets are usually NOT open on sundays. Some small neighborhood stores may open, but you need to know how to find them.

All of your selections are readily available at most supermarkets. Liquor stores are heavily concentrated on wine, but it will still be very easy to find what you are looking for, as long as it is not on a sunday.
