Linen pants
I need some help. I really want to wear linen pants on my long flight to Italy in May, but I'm not sure where to look. What I'm really looking for is something stylish, with a wide leg or maybe something a little flared at the bottom.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm the biggest fan of comfy gaucho pants--you can find them everywhere these days, from Target to Old Navy to Victoria's Secret to your department store.

I hate ever sitting down when wearing linen, I think you really have to stand up all the time for them to remain looking half way decent lol.
There are plenty of choices of trousers other than jeans or linen...
DKNY makes cute cotton blend pants, even Banana Republic or JCrew, as well as the better brands.
If you want something nicer than pjs or sweats but not confining or wrinkly, go to Chicos.
My daughter took me to one in Florida, I got a pair of pants and a top with a jacket, they never wrinkle, they are made of a fabric from outer space, I don't understand why it never wrinkles but it always looks like you just put it on.
I wear this outfit now every time I fly.
The pants are black with a slightly flared leg, top is boatneck with 3/4 sleeves and long tail and jacket is brown and zips up to a sort of mock turtle..

Now you can spot me at any airport lol

First of all they're showing a lot of broomstick skirts this year. Also a lot of cotton knits - nice stylish ones - not sweatpants. Then there's not regular old cotton.
All more omfy - and way less wrinkled than linen when you're essentially sleeping in a chair overnight.

My personal choice would be..yoga pants. Now before you laugh, they're made of synthetic, comfortable material that's thin and light-weight. They don't wrinkle and absorb perspiration well. You can find wider legged designs and all colors. They're not just for the gym anymore.

I normally wear a linen suit on transatlatic summer flights, but the minute I get on the plane I take it off and change into pjs, then change before landing. The flight attendents usually let me hang it up, and if not, I drape it in a not so cramped luggage compartment.

I just spotted these in my new Travel Smith catalogue. Good luck, whatever you choose.

The gauchos are awesome! Also cheaper at Target and Old Navy ($10-$10). I actually have 2 pairs from Lerner New York & Company, as well as similar styled pant that goes all the way to the ground from there. What I love is that the gauchos take up virtually no room packing and can be dressed up or down.

Yoga pants are so awesome! My gaucho pants and yoga pants are really similar. I brought yoga pants last year and make pack them in this year as well. I dressed them up to wear out and also did outdoorsy activities wearing them. (Mine are 3/4 length..I'm all about the 3/4 length)

I love linen and wear a lot of it at home in the States, but when traveling to Europe I will only consider linen blends that don't wrinkle. You can find some nice linen-stretch blends that hold up very well to traveling and that don't look chintzy. I've found several pairs of such pants and a jacket or two at Marshall's and TJMaxx when they were having their major sales - you have to be willing to spend time picking through stuff, though....
