Linate to Menaggio

The choice of airport and arrival time was made a couple of months ago. Plan B (or is that N?) is now in effect. Instead of Bergamo, we now hope to get to Menaggio. We arrive at Linate at 16:15. Plenty of time to get to the central station. Then what? A train to Varenna and the last ferry to Menaggio or a train to Como and a bus to Menaggio? I can’t ascertain the time of the last bus from Como.
Any information or other suggestions would be appreciated.
If the flight is delayed, we may be in Milan for the night. Any recommendations for reasonable lodging?

It's probably more easiest to go up the eastern side of the lake to Varenna - the train from Milan will get you all the way there - then hop the ferry across to Menaggio. This means fewer transfers and I suspect more flexible schedules.

Trains from Centrale to Varenna run about every two hours (the trip takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes) during the week and until at least 8:00 PM or later.

Ferry schedules at this site:

Hi to all the above.
Thanks for the helpful info. I never seem to be able to find the correct links.
In any event, we can now rest easy on this part of the trip. All we need now is something else to worry about.
Thanks again,
Bill & Millie
