Limoncello - buy in US?

I've looked at my local liquor stores and online. Is it possible to buy real limoncello in the US? If not, can some be purchased to have shipped from Italy?

Saw it in the Bel Air market today here in Rocklin, CA. Safeway usually sells it too.

It's available in every liquor store here in Mass. It's quite popular here and many restaurants serve a Limoncello Martini. Oooooh.

Beverages and More (BevMo) carries several. I'm also in No Calif - not far from Rocklin - and can find it LOTS of other places too from large liquor stores to most of the major supermarkets.

Raleys/BelAir is a large regional grocery chain (mostly in No Calif) that always seems to have it.

I've even seen it at Costco in Massachusetts, although I've never bought it there.

Limoncello is widely available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We have some in the fridge.

I love Villa Massa, esp. the creamy one. I bought it at Trader Joe's in CA but they now only carry the clear(yellow) one. I've also bought it at a large liquor store.
An extremely refreshing drink when it's 110 degrees? Try the cream limoncello on ice with sprite, squirt or sparkling lemonade. Yum!

Hi

We fell in love with it in Italy and have been able to get it at our local liquor store in Maryland.

I believe most full liquor stores carry it.

When we first fell in love with Limoncello we could not find it in our area. So, we decided to start making it ourselves. Many restaurants along the coast make their own. There are lots of recipes, and some are 20 day, some 40 day, and some 80 day. WE always make the 80 day and many of our friends say they like it more than the stuff we purchased over there.

You can buy it a lot of places but it is easy and delicious to make.
Take the zest of 15 scrubbed lemons and put it in a bottle of 100 proof vodka. Let sit for 40 days. Cook 4C sugar in 5C water. Add to lemon zest mix along with another bottle of vodka. Let sit for another 40 days. Strain out the zest and enjoy. Put in freezer to have at the ready.
NOTE. Times can be cut in half or in fourths. Still good.

Although I have always purchased it in Italy-you can find it easily in most areas of Chicago. If you really want a fun drink, my friends that I work with add lemon sorbet to it and freeze it for a delightful after dinner drink.

I got this recipe from a man in Amalfi, with a lemon grove. You take a liter of alcohol (Everclear) and peels (no white) from 8-10 lemons. Put it in a big sealed jar, and turn once a day, for 10 days. At the end of 10 days, take a liter of water and 600 grams of sugar, and make a simple syrup, on the stove. Take the jar with the lemon peels and strain it through cheese cloth, squeezing the lemon peels to get all...Mix with cooled simple syrup and put in bottles. Makes a great gift. I ordered bottles and made it personal. It's very very easy to make!

You bet you can. I live in PA which means going to a liquor store. Another vote here for Villa Massa...my favorite..haven't tried their creamy version
I tried another brand (sorry - can't remember the name) and it tasted like medicine. Could not believe the difference. Our "specialty" liquor store has about 7 brands...the others carry 2-3.

We like the Pallini brand. Smooth & tasty!

One day, we'll have to try our hand at making some ourselves.
