Leaving Saturday.Need HELP with train travel
We arrive at Schiphol airport Sunday,April 16th. I have done everything for our 2 week trip except arrange for train travel to Brugge when we land.
I just checked on rail sites and I can't tell if there are trains running Easter Sunday! Please tell me that I just don't know how to read the sites!
Can someone help me with the train schedules, etc. I would hate to have a bad beginning to our trip.
Thanks ever so much
Theresa

Don't worry, there are trains running roughly every hour (change in Antwerp)
Try Deutch Bahn site for the timetable. And if I were you, I would't bother getting advanced ticket or reservation.

The Netherlands Rail site www.ns.nl shows trains every hour at :40 past for Easter Sunday. Euro 37.60 in 2nd class and 56.40 in 1st class. Journey takes 3h18m to Brugge.
The train station is underground, reached by escallators and maybe an elevator IIRC in Schiphol Plaza, the area in the center of the airport. Tickets can be purchased in the ticket office on the main level. See the map of Schiphol on site www.schiphol.com.

I will print thise ourt and get tickets when we arrive.

When you get to the "Schiphol Plaza" area (following the pictograms for the train station)in the main terminal you'll see the ticket windows to your left. There are also ticket machines.
The platforms, as stated above, are one level down...easy to do even with luggage.
If you prefer to use the windows to get tickets by all means do so. The folks there are very helpful and understand English perfectly.

The train ticket windows are to your left if your plane docks in terminal F or G. If you arrive in terminals B through E the ticket windows will be on your right in Schiphol Plaza. IIRC there are separate windows for international tickets.

Just returned from a trip to Paris and Brugge - the trains definitely run, but the respective Dutch and Belgian rail systems (which by the way, were delightfully tourist friendly) may drop a train without having the "drop" reflected in the website. Furthermore, the demand for seats may be high and you may want to get a reservation in sooner than at the last minute. I strongly suggest consulting the Belgian rail website, www.b-rail.be and calling their customer service line: +32 (0)2 528 28 28. Caution note: this can be an expensive phone call. Bottom line: the trains do run, and if you remain flexible, you should have no problem, but I would make the reservation. Also, may I suggest a very fine restaurant in Brugge, Calis, run by a Flemish Lady and her Slovenian husband: www.calisbrugge.be
