Layover

i am traveling jfk to nice via Dublin with a 5 hour layover. Can I leave airport to have breakfast with my Irish cousins?

Assuming you aren't from a visa-required country -- yes. But w/ only 5 hours it probably would be best for them to meet you landside at the airport.

Leaving the Air side section of the airport means you have to clear customs again even if your baggage stays airside.

I would do it but get back with two hours to spare for your Nice flight. They picking you up or do you have to get a bus?
