LAX to Paris $300 R/T?

Someone just called to tell me about this offer on United. I do not have time to check it out but thought I would pass it on.

DeeDee, if you go onto United website you will see what special fares are available. Northwest has some too.

How about $249 RT (plus taxes and fees, probably) Here's a copy of a message I posted the day before yesterday:

Date: 01/12/2005, 01:20 pm

Message: From Travelzoo this morning: $249 RT LA to Paris NONSTOP on Air Tahiti Nui when two people fly together. Offer extends through late February.

LoveItaly,

I have been checking all airfares for several weeks now. After your post, I double checked the United website and still fail to see any European sales/specials. What am I missing?

DeeDee, sorry, I didn't mean that I have checked the United website (I haven't) I just meant that whatever specials they were having would no doubt be on their website. Sorry for the confusion.

However I did get an e-mail from Northwest Airlines on Wednesday, giving their specials for flying to Europe. The website in www.nwa.com if you want to check them out. The e-mail claimed they had r/t fares as low as $208.00 but didn't check it out much as travel has to be completed by Feb. 28th. And of course there are the additional fees and taxes (something like $112.00 for travel to Europe).

That's a great fare, however you look at it! I usually have to fly LA-SFO-CDG, so to get a fare direct to CDG would be nice - and at that price. Presumably, this quote is for Winter/Spring travel? I don't think I have ever gotten something that low.
