I was in Provence July 15-22. I saw the harvest beginning about July 20th. Best area I found was between Limoux and Sault, France near Mt. Ventoux. Here it is grown commercially on very large farms.

If you are ever in the area in late July or early August, go to the small town of Sault and look down from the city park into the vast valley below at the endless fields of purple.

Hi

I think you will be too late.
They were finished here about 1 month ago.

Larry J is right on the money.

For some future trip tab the Abbey Cenanque near Gordes where Cistrecian monks haervest areas of lavander. Last wwek in June through mid-July is the season. Get an airconditioned hotel. 2003 was torrid in Provence.

Good luck.
