Late October: would you do andaluscia or tuscany?

Starting to plan the next trip! We will not be able to go until late october-early november. Given that, we are trying to decide between andaluscia in Spain or Tuscany in Italy. We are looking for a country side vacation, small towns and charm. Not in the mood for big cities this time. But I worry about the weather at this time of year. Any opinions? Thanks!

On average, Andalucia is a bit warmer than Tuscany in October and November. November is by far the rainiest month in both places. I guess if I had been to neither place, even though it will probably be cooler, I would choose Tuscany.

I adore Tuscany. After Paris and Venice, it is the place I always most want to return. It is a personal preference, perhaps because of the wonderful times we have had there. It is, IMHO, more beautiful and the food is incredible. I don't think the weather will be sufficiently different to dictate your choice.

I was in Tuscany in mid-October and the weather was great. I was wearing shorts. Another vote for Tuscany....

Either one is a good choice. We did Florence in mid November and it was great. A bit damp but no crowds at all. Did not venture out of florence much, but we enjoyed the time of year. As for Andalusia, it would be a good time to tour about the area via car as it is not hot. Great paradors and small town hotels to stay away from the big city hubbub, and no crowds at the major sites.

Andalucia is my favorite place in the world. That would be my pick, but I've never been to Tuscany. I was in Seville in early November 2003 and it was WONDERFUL!

thanks everyone, it's a great choice either way I suppose! Pros for tuscany is a non stop flight to Italy from Dulles, but pro for Spain is I have never been before! Decisions, decisions!

Ivy, You know I love Tuscany, but if you have never been to Andalusia I would do it. It is unique, and you have better weather odds as well.

bob: I am so enchanted with the idea of Spain, I think that will be the choice in the end. But while in italy recently we got a taste of tuscany in Lucca and it seems so wonderul!
