This is a truly inspiring group of posts that have me laughing like mad.

And I am a writer.

SO I can really enjoy the purple prose and hyperbole.

Hilarious!

Here is my attempt at working with the bones of sentences you people have provided, and adding a little twist of my own...

"Last night, I decided to return to the zoo. Where I had first met him. By the monkey cage. It was his eyes. His big, sexy eyes. And the scarf. I had to get my hands on that beautiful scarf.

If I gave him what he wanted, perhaps I could snatch the scarf from him. I had no idea he was a thief, and the beautiful gossamer scarf wrapped around his hairy neck really belonged to the zoo keeper, who had inherited it from his mother, a famous Parisian model.

And I had no idea that the Zoo Keeper would return to claim the scarf, long after my mystery man had left me by climbing over the fence into the monkey cage. He left me standing there, clinging to the scarf as I imagined how beautiful I would look wearing it with my red silk dress to the Embassy party.

As I turned to leave, I met the eyes of a crazed, angry man. The Zoo Keeper! He snatched the end of the scarf and tugged on it, as I struggled to keep control of the delicate fabric.

Taking that scarf was the stupidest thing I had ever done, and now I was going to pay the price."

go into the neon-lit bar just a few yards away. I could see the flashing sign with my good eye (the other one being glass),it said "The Monkeys Haunt"except some of the lights were fused and it read "Mones Hat".
The taste of the nicotine had made me yearn for my favourite tipple..... .

Poor "soneedthistrip". You didn't get a reply. I had this same request (not last night but last night in Rome) and decided to stay in the Hotel Santa Maria in Tresteverde. It's a lovely hotel. Easy transfer to/from airport and good restaurants nearby.

I had thought to go out away from the city. I fly into airport from Palermo and out the next morning. But it proved to be way too complicated. I am happy with my decision.

Hope this helps

"She" was the most glamorous creature I had ever seen . She was everything I wanted to be -except- why did she keep chanting !
When I looked at her red dress I realised it was the exact same as the one hanging in my closet! The very dress I intended wearing to the Embassy party.
I tried to crumple the silk scarf into the palm so she didnt see it.
She was still chanting!Had she drunk too much of Giani's elixir?
