Lancaster Gate/Bayswater Rd area of London

I found an apartment to rent in the Lancaster Gate/Bayswater Rd. area of London. Is anyone familiar with this area? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Can you be a bit more specific - that's a big area.

The main roads that surround the apartment are: Craven Hill Rd, Leinster Gardens, and Bayswater Rd. The apt is actually located on Lancaster Gate Rd.

Yes - an actual address would help. Along Bayswater near Lancaster Gate is fine. Too far north and you end up near Paddington. East a bit gets you into Bayswater/Queensway which aren't as good (though not terrible or anything)

Years ago I always stayed right on Bayswater Rd about a a block+ from the Lancaster Gate station and it was fine. Since then I've discovered other areas that I prefer and are more convenient.

But being across the street from the parks is nice.

oh - we were posting at the same time.

There isn't a Lancaster Gate "Road" - just Lancaster Gate. That is fine. No problems w/ the area. Just depends if you want to be north of the parks and a bit farther away from most of the tourist areas/sites.

The first time I was in London, we stayed at a hotel in Bayswater, next to Queensway and, although I've been after than in many other areas (very short trips, so I needed to be more central) , I haven't enjoyed anyone as much as I enjoyed that one. I absolutely loved Queensway, the little shops, the beautiful Whiteleys shopping centre and a wealth of restaurants from almost every nationality from oriental to german or italians.
I recommend it to everybody which is going to stay in London more than 4 or 5 days.
