I believe that Milano Centrale has a left luggage option, so you would not have to check in first. Don't know about Cadorna.

There is an automatic luggage depositary near the Malpensa Express track which is near the side entrance you will take to walk to Santa Maria delle Grazie

Great info about the Last Supper being accessible sans reservations too! though at peak periods I know there could be a wait - but someone on another thread said they could not get tickets for a certain date and scrubbed their whole trip to Milan because of it.

I got the only time slot available for the 3 days we will be in Milan. And I got that only a couple hours after the tickets went on sale online; that's why my time is at 11 am. I would have preferred later that day or another day, but that was ALL that was available. And looking at the calendar for May when I was buying = there was little open for the month.

I guess if you go to Milan often or live nearby, you can take your chances on a walk up ticket. But for 2 tickets within a limited stay - not likely. I know that tours and resellers got a boat load of tickets as soon as they went on sale; as I was able to find a bigger selection at a BIG markup.

the whole thing rather stinks it seems - re-salers gobbling up tickets - WWJD? Kick the profit-mongering resalers out of the dinner table?

nochblad - Have you used that automatic luggage depository? I've read several were purchased and never made operational, but that may be old info. Unfortunately, Trenitalia quit listing which stations had various amenities in one of their recent upgrades (there used to be charts by region and luggage deposit was a column). You can look some stations up on grandistazioni and centostazioni, but even that is limited.

I am not 100% sure if it helps prevent this in full - but if you order online from telecharge or ticketmaster - there are limits to how many you can buy at one time. OF course - that doesn't prevent someone [business operator] from getting 10 people to buy 10 tickets each and then sell them from a single source.

And of course ticketmaster itself is something of a predatory monopoly.

DebitNM

when are you travelling?

obviously living in Como I do not need to use the Left Baggage service at Cadorna but maybe the next time there I can check.

when in Milan you should consider also the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition at the Palazzo Reale which is close to the Duomo.

this is the most important Leonardo exhibition ever organized in Italy.

the official site is - http://www.skiragrandimostre.it/leonardo/?setlang=en

DebitNM - noted

PalenQ - Expo opens May 1

Normally everything is demolished as the various constructions are temporary but some have remained.

The Eiffel Tower was erected for the 1889 World Fair and should have been dismantled.

The Atomium of the 1958 World Fair is still there - how many other significnat constructions reamin?

check www.trenitalia.com for a list of stations with baggage storage - Deposito de baggagli or some such wording.
