Actually the station at Lubin is no longer regularly served by PKP trains; an occasional night train but that's all. Better to travel from Krakow to Legnica, from where it is 25 km by bus. Buses run at least hourly. But I'm intrigued, for Lubin is so absolutely off-the-beaten-track. Not a place that's featured in many guidebooks.

AAAHHHH! Just realised.... did you mean Lublin? Not Lubin! Lublin, unlike Lubin, is very well trodden tourist territory. It's an easy and pleasant train ride. Comfortable direct trains leave Krakow Glowny (that's the main station in Krakow) at 7.20 am and 5.20 pm every day. The journey takes about five hours. Very cheap (45 Zloty one-way, and about 25 extra if you want first class). No need to book in advance.

Thanks so much, I did mean LubLin, as the heading stated. We are spending several days in Krakow, but we have some family history in Lublin... I was under the impression there wasn't a train between the two cities, good to know there is, thanks.
