Which syllable is emphasized?

I've always been told the accent's on the "yu"

Yup. I've been there a couple of times, and the stress is indeed on the "yu." As a result, the g kind of gets lost, so it's something like "kin-YU-see."

The second and third syllables rhyme with "juicy" not "fussy".

Once you've worked out that Kikcudbright is KirKOObree and Milngavie is MulGAee, how about Culross (beware, not as simple as it looks) and Kilconquhar?
The good news is that once you've learned to speak Gaelic these are much easier ;-)

If you do go to Kingussie - there is brilliant restaurant with rooms called THE CROSS. It's expensive but well worth it.

We're going to Scotland in May and will spend most of our time in the Highlands. Kingussie is one of the places we are considering staying. So I thought it would be nice to know how to pronounce it.
